This was a game that was made in my production class with a team of my fellow students. The prompt for this game was to watch two movies off of a list provided to us and come up with a mechanic based on them. The two movies that my team watched were Bladerunner and Seven Samurai, these helped lead us to the mechanic where the player is able to get extra lives by freeing their fellow samurai. What made this mechanic unique was that each samurai had different proficiencies and abilities that the player would have to learn while surviving the futuristic bullet hell. This game was very beneficial for my growth because it gave me the chance to lead my team in an effective way and practice flexible thinking to make sure the game was never out of scope. Another skill I was able to hone was narrative design because we wanted to find a way to almost merge the two movies so I came up with a story that could achieve that.
